Willow Smith, the 9-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada signed with Roc-A-Fella

In a press release Roc-A-Fella Records announced the newest young talent signed to their record label, Willow Smith, the 9-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada

Pinkett-Smith, and she already has a hit single getting major airplay around the country.

With a look and sound that is reminiscent of singer Rihanna, without being a complete copy of the singer, Willow's first single I Whip My Hair is already one of the most requested songs on New York City's Hot 97 after making its debut on Youtube and Roc-a-Fella's website September 7th.

The song has also been picked up in major city's like Los Angeles and Miami to positive reviews. The song has a catchy chorus of, 'I whip my hair back and forth...' that will be stuck in your head after listening to the song.

While Jay-Z and the Smith's already have a few critics who say they are exploiting their daughter's talent at a young age, Jay-Z went on to say the idea was completely Willow's and he was 'stoked' to be working with her and allowing her to grow as an artist.

Willow already has a family of talent behind her and many insiders said it was only a matter of time before Willow took on singing to add to her already positive acting career. She appeared alongside her father actor and singer Will Smith in I Am Legend in 2007. Her mother Jada Pinkett-Smith is also a singer herself with the rock band Wicked Wisdom. Willow is also riding high on the success of older brother Jaden Smith and his hit movie The Karate Kid with Jackie Chan.

Roc-a-Fella Records founder rapper Jay-Z said in the statement that finding a talent like Willow Smith is rare, especially at 9-years-old with a voice of a woman twice her age. He went on to say the label has already signed Willow to a record deal, with tours and merchandise to support her upcoming album in the works
